Most industrial applications use belt conveyors somewhere within their facilities. Belt conveyors are the most widely used type of conveyor for a variety of reasons which include:

  • Versatility Belt conveyors are easily configured to many different types of product handling conditions. Transferring from one conveyor to another and retracting type for dumping sub standard product are two common examples.
  • Ease of design In many cases adapting a design of a belt conveyor to a specific need can be as simple as using a different belt and adapting the drive system and legs for different widths and/or speeds.
  • Low cost Belt conveyors are the most inexpensive method of moving materials. This is partly due to the simplicity of design and also the low cost of the belt itself.
  • Ease of cleaning All Jantz Canada belt conveyors designed for the food industry are supplied with a quick release system to provide slack in the belt. This allows for easy cleaning of the support structure underneath the belt.
